H.O.G. CLUB BENEFITS

OUR MISSION STATEMENT:


TO RIDE AND HAVE FUN!!!

  • Activities that are of interest to the Harley-Davidson motorcycle owner.
  • New friends and camaraderie at monthly meetings and club events.
  • Special events and special discounts for local chapter H.O.G. club members at the sponsoring Harley-Davidson dealer, Valley Harley-Davidson, (when applicable).
  • Involvement with an organization that is generous to local charities.
  • Opportunity to participate in Organized Group Rides
  • A voice in club business as it relates to bettering the organization and community.
  • Six or more Newsletters per year to keep you informed of club meetings and activities and club points of interest.
  • The Chapter web site on the Internet, www.uovhogblog.blogspot.com will give you up to date information about the club and you can print pictures from the online gallery.
  • A Club scrapbook and pictures (available for viewing at the monthly meetings).

H.O.G. CLUB MEMBERSHIP

You must be a member of the National H.O.G. (full or associate member) to qualify for local club membership. Full Membership dues for the National is currently $45.00 per year, associate National membership dues is $25.00 per year. The current National H.O.G. Club member number must be on the application for Local membership. The annual dues for the local is $20.00 per year.
  • Full member of National is defined as the owner/rider of a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. Associate member is defined as spouse or significant other of the Full member, who does not own a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
  • An associate member enjoys all the benefits and voting privileges as a full member.  Therefore it is encouraged for the spouse or significant other of Local members to become an associate National member for participation in the Local, to attend meetings, including pre-meeting social time and refreshments, picnics, Christmas party, etc.
  • Membership renewal applications are mailed to current members in January. The deadline for renewals is March 15.  It is requested that all dues be paid by check or money order made payable to the Upper Ohio Valley H.O.G. and returned to the secretary with a self addressed stamped envelope for return of the membership card and current handbook. The annual local club dues are $20.00 per year.
  • Members are eligible for discount programs and special event promotions as determined by the sponsoring dealer, Valley Harley-Davidson.  It will be announced at monthly meetings and noted on the web site (www.uovhogblog.blogspot.com) as well as in the newsletter as to how they apply.

MEETINGS

With the exception of December, when the meeting is laid down during the holidays, meetings are held the last Tuesday of each month at 7 P.M. at the sponsoring dealer, Valley Harley-Davidson locations, alternating between the Belmont, Ohio and Bethlehem, WV shops.

      All elected officers will serve a two (2) year term.  In and election year, nomination of officers is held at the October meeting with election of officers held at the November meeting.  New officers take office in January of the new year.

      ANNUAL EVENTS

      The Upper Ohio Valley H.O.G. has several events through the year that are "open" to the public. The profit from these events is used as operating capital for the club through the year to offset expenses such as postage, event insurance, rental of event sites and misc. expenses associated with motorcycle events. A percentage of the profit raised at these events goes to a local charity which is determined by the membership prior to the event.

      • Closed events are member only events. Members can invite one (1) guest to participate. Guests cannot outnumber members at a "closed" event.
      • Open events are open to the public.

      • Members are encouraged to check the website, www.hogblog.blogspot.com.and the newsletter for date changes, additional events and dates and event details.
      • Liquor liability coverage is not provided by the Chapter's general liability insurance coverage policy. Therefore, NO alcohol is bought or served by the Upper Ohio Valley H.O.G. Club.
      • Members are encouraged to volunteer for event committees to help with the planning and organization of the club events. The Upper Ohio Valley H.O.G.  is Your club, our Mission Statement, "To Ride and Have Fun", means that we all have to do our part to ensure that we all have fun, fun sometimes takes a little work or time. Membership input helps to make sure that we ALL live our Mission Statement.
      • Volunteer Program
        • 2011 Volunteer Program will give members who volunteer for an event the chance to earn points to be used to "purchase" merchandise that will be available at the annual Christmas party.
        • Guidelines,,,,
          • Regular monthly meetings 2 points per meeting, double oints for January thru April meetings.
          • Attendance of committee meetings by committee members 1 point.
          • Volunteer commitment of 4 hours, 2 points plus 1 bonus point.
          • Volunteer commitment of 6-8 hours, 4 points plus 3 bonus points.
          • Volunteer at an event without prior commitment, 1 point for every 2 hours.
          • Recruit a new member to the Upper Ohio Valley HOG Club and receive 5 points.
          • All new members will receive 5 points when joining.  Serving on a committee during the 1st calendar year (Jan - Dec), volunteer points will be doubled.
          • Volunteering for a Dealership event, 1 point for every 2 hours.
          • Points "DO NOT" carry over from year to year.  All unused points expire at the end of the calendar year.
          • Member points "CAN NOT" be combined to purchase merchandise.

      • Christmas Party
        • The annual Upper Ohio Valley H.O.G. Christmas Party will be held December 43rd this year. This event is a reservation only event (closed event). The reservation forms are mailed out the second week in October with and R.S.V.P. and must be returned to the Treasurer by Saturday, November 5th with a check or money order (made payable to the Upper Ohio Valley H.O.G.) to cover any costs as determined by the membership.
        • There are volunteer gift exchanges for men and for women. The monetary limit to be determined by membership. Those who bring a gift will take home a gift.
      • Club Picnic
        • The club picnic will be determined subject to club budget and membership preference via vote each year.
